Weekend track & field results for Fairview and Lutheran West

Fairview:

The Warriors struggled at the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs relays on Friday. The boys finished sixth out of seven teams and the girls finished eighth out of eight teams. The teams did have some bright spots, though. The boys 4×800 of Beard, Gillmore, Wilkinson, and Miles took a first place with a time of 8:32, while the 4×400 of Beard, Gillmore, Solaman, and Roland was able to finish second with a time of 3:32. One of their best vaulters was unable to be present, but Zach Jones and Nathan Seelbach pick up the slack with two personal records and squeezed out a fifth-place finish. Rory Juhn placed second in the 110 run, with a time of 15.9. The boys shot putters of Boepple, Harris, and Thompson also managed a relay of 123′ 3.75″ for second place.

The girls, with limited numbers, managed to pull out some bright spots. Hanna Powers ran the shuttles, pole vaulted by herself in a relay for sixth place, while also running the 4×200, and 4×400. Sophmore Stephanie Miller ran to a fifth place finish with a time of 13.3 in the 100m. The relay team of Rehor, McQuate, Lyman, and Main took fourth in the 4×1600, while coming back with the same girls minus Main for Kilbane in the 4×800 for fifth place.

                       

Lutheran West:

The Lutheran West teams both placed seventh at the Rocky River Bell Invitational, but a number of the Longhorns ran personal bests. 

The boys 4×100 relay team of junior Nash Hagen, freshman Nick Knudsen, sophomore Josh Sekola, and sophomore Kyle Hayes finished fourth, with a time of 47.11. Josh Sekola ran a personal best in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 43.46. The 4×200 team ran a personal best time of 1:38.57 with Knudsen, Hayes, sophomore Collin Fueger, and Nash Hagen. Senior Shane Elkins and freshman Nick Knudsen tied for third place with 5’6” jumps, and senior Art Schwandt finished fourth with a throw of 42’ 4.5”.

The Longhorn girls were led by freshman Gabby Schultz’s fourth place finish in the shot put (32’6.5”);  a personal best by Rebecca Coyne in her eighth place finish in the 300 meter (51.67); and a sixth place personal best in the 4×200 relay with freshman Marissa Turba, Rebecca Coyne, senior Madie Carper, and junior Marissa Nuti.
