Saturday reception caps annual arts show

Artists entered works in five categories – oil/acrylic, watercolor, drawing, charcoal/pastel, and photography. Prizes of $100 will be given to first-place artists, with $50 going to second-place finishers. For the first time this year, categories were divided into two divisions, professional and amateur.

Olmsted Performing Arts to stay at Columbia Road building

In an Aug. 11 press release, OPA Executive Director Chuck Ingrassia announced the organization had sold its 43,000-square-foot facility to Grace Church, based in Middleburg Heights. The facility will also serve as home to Hope Church, an offshoot congregation of Grace Church.

Relay brings hope for life after cancer

2015 marks the 30th anniversary of Relay For Life. Tacoma surgeon Gordon Klatt, who died at age 71 one year ago last week, raised $27,000 in the first iteration of the American Cancer Society fundraiser.

Driver in Dover Gardens crash sentenced

Brandon Pawlak, the Cleveland man who injured 13 persons when he drove a stolen pickup truck into the Dover Garden Tavern Oct. 23, will spend 35 years and six months in prison.
