Celebrate Westlake to mark 25th run Saturday

The 5-mile run will start at 8:30 a.m. The course will take runners west on Center Ridge Road, south on Bradley Road, then back east to the hospital past Burns Lake and the Burns Lake Wildlife Area off White Oak Lane. The top male and female finishers in the five-miles run will each receive $500 in addition to a gold medal.

Hungry deer and heavy rains have not been good for Martha Radca’s hosta plants this year, she told West Life. But Radca, who has about a dozen variations of hostas in her yard, said she doesn’t plan on replacing them because she loves the plant, which does well in the shade.

Artists entered works in five categories – oil/acrylic, watercolor, drawing, charcoal/pastel, and photography.
