Table For Two
Stamper’s restaurant and bar has gained a reputation as one of the top beer bars on the west side of Cleveland. The ever-changing draft beer list includes selections like Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, Sierra #29 Double IPA (India Pale Ale) and Widmer Brothers Pitch Black IPA.
This summer, Stamper’s is planting hops to enhance your beer experience. The vines will grow along the patio fence and up the brick wall. Come harvest time in August, customers can pick fresh whole cone hops to add to the flavor of their glass of craft beer. If beer is not your beverage of choice, relax with a pina colada made with fresh pineapple and served in a coconut half shell.
Stamper’s is one of the few places in town where you can enjoy live music both inside and outside on the patio during the warm-weather months. North Sea Gas, one of Scotland’s most popular folk bands, is playing acoustic music from 8 to 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The menu at Stamper’s changes seasonally, and local ingredients are used whenever possible. Specials will be added throughout the summer. “Fatbreads,” made with thick, fresh dough, are topped with barbecued chicken and crumbled bacon, fresh pesto and Roma tomatoes, and prosciutto with kalamata olives and goat cheese.
Burgers start with a half-pound of Black Angus beef. The Backyard Burger is grilled with your choice of cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato and red onion. The Hot One, a house favorite, is spiced up with hot chili threads and roasted banana peppers, smoked Gouda cheese and a side of sweet jalapeno jam. Other sandwiches on the menu are barbecued pulled pork, grilled chicken on brioche bread, steak with melted provolone cheese and grilled onions and mushrooms, and a Buffalo bleu cheese chicken wrap with crumbled gorgonzola.
Dinner entrees include comfort fare like roast beef with mashed potatoes, chicken paprikash and Sierra Pale Ale-battered fish and chips.
Specials are two-for-one burgers on Monday, 35-cent wings on Tuesday, and Stamper’s famous Tam’O tacos for $2.50 on Wednesday. Enjoy a generous corned beef or Reuben sandwich for $6 on Thursday, a 12-ounce New York strip steak dinner for $10.99 on Saturday or a $5 Fatbread or dozen wings on Sunday.
Stamper’s Grill Pub, 21750 Lorain Road, is open from 3 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to midnight on Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Major credit cards are honored.
