Bob-O-Link Ladies Golf LeagueBob-O-Link Ladies Golf League is welcoming new members for the 2014 season. Avon Lake couples golf leagueThe Avon Lake Couples Golf League has openings for 2014. This is a nine-hole league, walking or carts, on alternating nines of the Sweetbriar course and occasionally the Legacy course. Avon Lake recreational swim team sign-upsSign-ups for Avon Lake’s summer recreational swim team will take place 9 a.m.–noon April 12 at the Old Firehouse Community Center, located at the corner of Lake Road and SR 83. Registration, emergency contact and sportswear order forms can be picked up in advance at Avon Lake City Hall between 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. or online at www.avonlakeswimteam.com. Registration will be open from April 1-30. Registrations received after April 30 will not be accepted. The cost of participation is $60 for the first child and $50 for each additional child. The Avon Lake recreational swim team is open to Avon Lake residents between the ages of 5–18 who are comfortable in the water and can swim one length of the pool without stopping. Parents please note this is a competitive swim team and not swim lessons. Team swim suit try on and sportswear orders will be taken at registration only (no mail in swimsuit or sportswear orders will be accepted). A tentative swim meet schedule and list of important dates will be available at registration and is also posted on the team’s website. Avon Lake in-house rec league registrationThe Avon Lake Soccer Organization has opened supplemental registration for its in-house recreation league for the spring 2014 season. The program is open to children with birth dates between Aug. 1, 2000, and July 31, 2008. Space is limited, and players will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis to fill available roster spots only. As always, volunteers are welcome; no soccer experience necessary. Children who played in fall 2013 do not need to re-register at this time. Fee will be $45 for the spring 2014 session, including a T-shirt. Gaelic football team seeks athletesCleveland St. Jarlath Gaelic Football will begin its spring indoor training in March and welcoming all local athletes (18 and older). Gaelic football is a mixture of soccer, rugby, basketball and is played on a field similar to soccer. St. Jarlath has its home field based in Avon Lake. North Ridgeville Football League signupsThe North Ridgeville Football League, now in its 44th season, is having early registrations at the North Ridgeville Library April 12 from 11 a.m. To 2 p.m. There will be a $10 discount for early registration bringing cost to $95 per player and $85 for cheerleaders. Groups include flag football for 6-8 years old, junior tackle for 9-10 years old and senior tackle for 11-13 years old. You do not need to live in North Ridgeville to participate and there is no top end weight limit. Everyone plays.
