Baldwin-Wallace men’s tennis
The Baldwin-Wallace College men’s tennis team defeated host Oberlin College, 7-2, inside the John Heisman Center.
With the win, B-W is now 8-0 this season and finished 5-1 during the winter portion of its schedule. In singles play, No. 1 player Alex Trzeciak (Avon Lake), a senior, won by scores of 6-4 and 6-1; No. 2 player Joe Horvath (North Royalton), a junior, won by scores of 6-1 and 6-1; No. 3 player Alexandre Bourdieaux (France), a senior, won by scores of 6-3 and 6-4; No. 4 player Alex Kearney (North Olmsted), a junior, won by scores of 6-1 and 6-3; and No. 5 player Tyler Beaton (Bemus Point, N.Y./ Maple Grove), a junior, won after two tie-breakers in the first and third sets.
Westlake Recreation Center is having a “March Madness” 3-on-3 tournament. All games will be played at the Westlake Recreation Center, 28955 Hilliard Blvd.
This is a double-elimination tournament with separate divisions for boy and girls. Divisions are as follows: third-and fourth-grade, fifth-and sixth-grade and seventh-and eight-grade. Boys and girls will play on March 24. The tournament begins at 10:00am. Starting times will be staggered by division. Rosters are limited to four players per team.
Cost is $50 for an all-member team, $60 for half-member teams and $70 for non-member teams. One payment only.
