Spice of Life announces Plated Landscape destinations

The season’s best alfresco dining awaits at the Plated Landscape dinner catered by Spice of Life.

Explore the farms that help make Cleveland’s local food scene so great. Each dinner includes a farm tour or forage, five courses featuring just-picked ingredients, wine pairings and beautiful sunsets. The last course is lit by lantern and starlight.

This year’s calendar includes some of the most popular destinations from the last seven years, with a few new ones sprinkled in for good measure. The first is an asparagus dinner at 4 p.m. on June 1 at Muddy Fork Farm in Wooster. Next is a Yellow House Cheese dinner at 6 p.m. on June 12 in Seville. There you can learn more about the Henslee family’s award-winning sheep’s milk blue cheese. Then, it is on to Mackenzie Creamery for a goat cheese dinner at 6 p.m. on July 17 in Hiram. A Killbuck Valley mushroom dinner is planned for 4 p.m. on Aug. 3 in Burbank. This dinner sells out first each year. Guests love the adventure of the predinner mushroom forage. New Creations Farm in Chardon is hosting the Aug. 14 dinner at 6 p.m. The Ohio City Farm is the site of the 6 p.m. dinner on Sept. 4. A Quarry Hill Orchards apple dinner takes place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 in Berlin Heights. The last location on this season’s calendar is Squire Valleevue Farm at 6 p.m. on Oct. 9 in Hunting Valley. This is Case Western Reserve University’s learning farm.

Tables seat 20 to 40 guests, and the most popular destinations sell out within days. The cost is $150 a person, or $125 for food and beverage professionals. Advance registration ends April 1. Phone 216-432-9090.

Stamper’s Grill Pub in Fairview Park continues to offer a wide range of Lenten Friday specials.

Start your meal with a bowl of homemade lobster bisque ($7.50). Potato and cheese pierogies are from the West Side Market ($8.25) The perch dinner includes five to six pieces of fish served with hand-cut fries and cole slaw ($16). The perch po’ boy sandwich is served with house chips ($9.99).

Fish tacos are garnished with spicy mayonnaise and mango salsa ($12). Baked wild salmon is complemented by dill compound butter and served with broccoli and fries ($14). Other offerings are grilled cheese and tomato with tots ($7), and baked macaroni and cheese ($9).

This week’s entertainment includes Cats on Holiday on Apr. 4, and Monica Robins and The Whiskey Kings on April. 5. The Jeff Varga Trio performs on Apr. 6.
