See what is on tap this summer at Edgewater Park in the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation.
Cleveland Metroparks continues its summer season of events with a brand-new celebration called “Beer at the Pier,” from 3 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. Craft beer fans can relax lakeside while sampling tasty brews from at least 20 different Ohio brewing companies.
In addition to Ohio-made craft beers, guest can enjoy live music from Erin Rossi and Thor Platter, and food for purchase from local food trucks, including Manna Truck, 216 Bistro, Nosh Box, Motor Mouth and Betty’s Bomb A** Burgers. Explore recreation opportunities and visit with vendors such as River Cruiser Kayaking, the Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association, Vertical Runner, The Backpackers Shop, Fleet Feet, NEO Cycle and Cleveland Metroparks Outdoor Experiences.
Breweries slated to appear include Great Lakes Brewing Co., Fat Head’s Brewery, Cellar Dweller Brewing, Cellar Rats Brewery, Ohio Brewing Co., Market Garden Brewery, Main Street Brewing Co., Willoughby Brewing Co., Brick and Barrel, Franklin Brewing Co., Black Box Brewing Co., Jackie O’s Pub and Brewery, Columbus Brewing Co., Buckeye Brewing, Little Mountain Brewing Co., MadTree Brewing Co., Rivertown Brewing Co., Portside Distillery and Brewery, The Brew Kettle and Cornerstone Brewing Co.
General admission tickets are $35 and include 25 two-ounce samples and a brewery checklist. VIP tickets include early admission at 2 p.m. for a meet and greet with the brewers, additional samples and complimentary snacks. VIP admission tickets, priced at $50, must be purchased in advance at www.clevelandmetroparks.com. “Beer at the Pier” also has a $20 designated driver option, which includes a $5 food voucher and three tickets for water or soda. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. A valid ID is required for admission.
Proceeds from the event help support the Cleveland Metroparks Trails Fund. Edgewater Park is at 65 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway. “Beer at the Pier” is a rain or shine event.
Bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy “Edgewater Live” at the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The free concerts feature a variety of bands, including the Whiskey Kings on July 24; Blonde Scott on July 31; Charles Hill Jr. on Aug. 7; and Revolution Pie, a Beatles cover band, on Aug. 14. The Lakewood/Rocky River Rotary Car Show is also at Edgewater Park on July 31. Food trucks are there weekly to provide refreshments.

Cowell & Hubbard restaurant is hosting a “Go Healthy” dinner with Kristin Kirkpatrick at 6:30 p.m. on Aug 5.
Kirkpatrick is a dietitian and wellness manager at the Cleveland Clinic and a regular contributor to “The Dr. Oz Show.” She will guide guests through the Cleveland Clinic’s new Healthy Eating Initiative. The meal includes six courses prepared by chef de cuisine Andy Dombrowski, with wine pairings by sommelier Robert Lebuda.
