If you want to know what’s cooking in Cleveland, make plans to attend the seventh annual Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week, through March 2.
Each restaurant will offer diners a three-course meal for $30, plus tax and tip. Some establishments are even offering $15 lunch options. Nearly 50 restaurants are participating. Here is some information about a few favorites.
Blue Point Grille, 700 W. St. Clair Ave., 216-875-7827: Start off with a bowl of seafood chowder or a Titanic iceberg salad. Main dish choices are Faroe Islands salmon, day boat scallops or roasted Amish chicken. Dessert is flourless chocolate torte or creme brulee.
Cowell & Hubbard, 1305 Euclid Ave., 216-479-0555: Appetizer choices are roasted beet salad, hominy stew or fried clam bellies. Entrees are beef and rosemary ravioli, market fish or ratatouille. Select the dessert du jour, Linzer torte or flourless chocolate cake.
Hodge’s, 668 Euclid Ave., 216-771-4000: Featured starters are beer and cheddar cheese soup, Caesar salad, mussels or chicken liver toast. Then, choose braised beef cheeks, Bay of Fundy salmon or country fried chicken as your entree, followed by a dessert of banana cream pie or chocolate bread pudding.
House of Blues Foundation Room, 308 Euclid Ave., 216-523-2583: Select a house salad or Korean short rib appetizer. Entrees are grilled chicken, spinach ricotta gnocchi or seared scallops. Dessert choices are apple croissant bread pudding or lemon cake.
Johnny’s Downtown, 1406 W. 6th St., 216-623-0055: Begin dinner with mushroom soup or seared scallop spinach salad. Entree selections are grilled salmon tournedos, beef short ribs or veal scaloppine. Dessert is tiramisu or Chocolate Decadence.
Lola Bistro, 2058 E. 4th St., 216-621-5652: The Restaurant Week menu begins with butternut squash soup or house salad. Entree choices are beef hanger steak, scallops or agnolotti pasta with chestnuts and Brussels sprouts. Desserts are Key lime tart or dark chocolate bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream.
Luca Italian Restaurant, 2100 Superior Viaduct, 216-862-2761: Start your meal with a house salad or Tuscan bean soup. Entrees are veal-stuffed tortellini, pappardelle Bolognese, filet or salmon. Desserts are tiramisu or chocolate mousse.
Muse at the Ritz-Carlton, 1515 W. 3rd St., 216-902-5255: Appetizers are shrimp and grits or a wedge salad. Then, feast on lobster pasta, chicken carbonara or smoked whole hog pierogi. Dessert is vanilla creme brulee or peanut butter chocolate bombe.
Red, the Steakhouse, 417 Prospect Ave., 216-664-0941: The Restaurant Week dinner begins with a house salad, stuffed peppers, Caesar salad or mussels diavolo. Entree choices are beef braciole, steak frites, seared Atlantic cod or chicken piccata. Sweet treats include caramelized pear tart or doughnut holes served with a trio of dipping sauces.
Sans Souci, 24 Public Square, 216-274-1170: The menu includes lobster bisque, Ohio City pappardelle pasta with spinach and fried egg and chef’s choice dessert.
