Rocky River High School and University of Rochester graduate Andy Breidigam has been named to the Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation (NFF).
The NFF recognizes that it is a challenge to earn varsity letters in every year for a sport, and the challenge deepens when a student athlete maintains a strong cumulative GPA over that same amount of time.
To qualify for the team, student athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher throughout their senior season.
Now in its sixth year, the Hampshire Honor Society has grown from 345 students in its first year (2007), to this year’s class of 728 members, with a total of 3,385 football players being recognized.
Breidigam earned three varsity letters in football and two varsity letters in basketball during his years at Rocky River High School, and was named captain of both teams as a senior.
He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester this spring.
