After 48 years in the catering business, Wagner’s Country Inn in Westlake knows how to throw a party. Don Wagner and his crew will be serving a holiday buffet dinner, with seatings at 5:30 and 7 p.m. The menu includes carved roast beef and sliced turkey with dressing, pork, sauerkraut and kielbasa, buttermilk chicken, baked fish, beef stroganoff and penne pasta with marinara sauce. The meal comes with assorted side dishes, salads and desserts. A cash bar is available. The cost is $26.95 plus tax for adults and $13.50 for youngsters 2 to 10 years of age. The Burntwood Tavern, 19304 Detroit Road in Rocky River, will be open on New Year’s Eve from 11 a.m. to midnight. The regular menu will be available and the kitchen will serve until 10 p.m. Call 440-333-6700 for reservations.

The doors open at 7 p.m. for Brennan’s 29th annual New Year’s Eve celebration. Entertainment will be provided by Frank and Dean. The 8 p.m. buffet dinner includes carved prime rib, chicken Marsala, stuffed cabbage, pork loin with herb dressing, penne pasta with meat or Alfredo sauce, salads, side dishes and petite pastries for dessert. Swing into the New Year at SB Eighty One, 24481 Detroit Road in Westlake. A Las Vegas-style casino night is planned with casino games, raffles and prizes. Dinner includes an appetizer, salad and dessert with your choice of chicken Parmesan, tilapia or chorizo pasta for $50 a person, or surf and turf for $65 a person.
