Relax outdoors on the lovely patio at Georgetown

Summer seems all too short in Cleveland. Enjoy the beautiful weather in Northeast Ohio by dining outdoors.

Georgetown restaurant has one of the loveliest patios in town. Reserve a shady, street-side table and relax with friends over a slice of Georgetown’s signature Maine lobster pizza with caramelized onions and fresh herbs ($16). The menu also features prosciutto pizza with roasted pears and crumbled bleu cheese ($12) and lamb sausage pizza with fresh grapes and sliced Brie ($13).

Fried calamari with red and yellow sweet peppers is served with basil and garlic aioli ($8). Pan-seared Hudson Valley foie gras is accompanied by toasted walnut bread and strawberry relish ($16). Select appetizers and drinks are offered at a reduced price during happy hour, from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Refreshing summer salads include a chopped Caesar ($7), field greens with fresh melon and orange basil dressing ($7), red quinoa with strawberries and pink grapefruit ($8) and asparagus topped with hard-cooked eggs, Nueske bacon and mustard dressing ($8). There is a daily soup selection, along with Manhattan clam chowder ($8).

Chef Rachel Spieth’s seasonal menu specialties include Parmesan-crusted Lake Erie walleye ($25) and pan-seared sea scallops served over black rice with a melon, mint and goat cheese salsa ($28). A vegetarian entree of zucchini stuffed with ricotta, pine nuts and white beans is served with fresh tomato and basil sauce ($18). Roasted duck breast and foie gras are complemented by sweet pea polenta and beet orange and fennel salad ($28). Other meat entrees are roasted lamb loin with goat cheese-mashed potatoes ($30), chili-seasoned and grilled hanger steak ($24) and grilled beef tenderloin ($29).

Vanilla bean creme brulee ($7) or a dish of house-made ice cream or sorbet ($6) is the perfect ending to a summertime feast.

Georgetown, 18515 Detroit Ave. in Lakewood, has jazz entertainment by Laura Varcho on Friday and the Tony Cuda Quartet on Saturday. Eileen Dorsey is featured on Thursday. A Great Lakes Beer Dinner is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday at The Melting Pot fondue restaurant at Westgate.

Dinner begins with a welcome and a surprise brewery-only beer. An appetizer of cheese fondue will be served with Dortmunder, followed by a summer salad and The Wright Pils. Entree selections include orange bourbon teriyaki sirloin steak, honey Dijon salmon, cilantro lime chicken and Memphis barbecue shrimp, served with Lake Erie Monster. Dessert is chocolate fondue, accompanied by Edmund Fitzgerald.
