The Cuyahoga County Party’s Central and Executive Committee has endorsed Michael O’Donnell in the Ward 3 race for Rocky River City Council. The backing came at a meeting Sept. 14 in Independence.
After winning the county party’s support, O’Donnell said he was encouraged, but acknowledged that there was more work ahead.
“I was honored to receive the county’s endorsement because it validates everything the campaign has been working so hard to accomplish but I know there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to get stronger representation in our ward,” said O’Donnell.
Incumbent Ward 3 Councilman Michael Mylen, who did not
attend the meeting due to personal business, noted that the county party, while not endorsing him in the three-man primary election four years ago, gave him the nod after that primary. “I’m disappointed (at not getting the endorsement) but I feel as though I have done a good job representing all the people in the ward and all parties,” Mylen stated.
