NCAA history has Westlake connection » Kyle Dake

Over the weekend of March 23, Cornell University wrestler, Kyle Dake, made NCAA history by becoming the first wrestler in the history of NCAA Division I wrestling to capture four national championships at four different weight classes. Kyle is the son of Doug Dake, who remains the only wrestler in Westlake High School history to capture a state title in wrestling, which he did in 1975. Kyle became only the third four-time NCAA champion joining Pat Smith of Oklahoma State and Cael Sanderson of Iowa State (and current Penn State wrestling coach – the Nittany Lions have won the last 3 team titles).
