NCAA history has Westlake connection

Over the March 23 weekend, Cornell University wrestler Kyle Dake made NCAA history by becoming the first wrestler in the history of NCAA Division I wrestling to capture four national championships at four different weight classes. Kyle is the son of Doug Dake, who remains the only wrestler in Westlake High School history to capture a state title in wrestling, which he did in 1975. Kyle became only the third four-time NCAA champion, joining Pat Smith of Oklahoma State and former Iowa State and current Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson – whose Nittany Lions have won the last three team titles.
