Incoming Magnificat junior Ali Nageotte took medalist honors at the American Junior Golf Association’s preseason tournament the weekend of June 1 on the Links course at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania.

She finished the two-day tournament with a 15 over par 155.

“I am very happy about the win,” Nageotte said. “The course was very hard – the greens in particular – and it was very windy all weekend.”

She shot an 80 the first day and was tied for the overnight lead, then came out in the final round and shot a 75 for the victory.

“It felt great to hang onto the lead and win the tournament,” she added. “I will be able to reflect on this win, and it was the perfect boost to start off the summer season.”

Nageotte finished third (individually) at the high school state tournament last fall, helping the Magnificat team to a sixth-place overall finish in Division I play.
