Mardi Gras festivities are in full swing at Salmon Dave’s Pacific Grille in Rocky River.
The annual Taste of N’Awlins Feast runs now through March, with a parade of Cajun and Creole dishes on the menu.
Start your feast with a bowl of Gumbo Ya Ya, made with chicken, spicy andouille sausage, okra and rice ($7), or crispy fried oysters served with jalapeno tartar sauce and citrus salsa ($9.50). Crab Napoleon is fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab meat and Creole sauce ($12.50). Boudin balls are pan-fried andouille sausage and rice balls, served with crawfish etouffee and Creole mustard ($9).
The Hellfire crawfish salad is back on the menu, with spicy fried crawfish, candied pecans, bleu cheese and buttermilk dressing ($14). Additions to the bar menu include a Bayou burger topped with andouille sausage and smoked Gouda cheese whiz, fried green tomatoes and sport peppers ($12). The oyster po’boy sandwich is made with cornmeal-crusted oysters and jalapeno tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato on a Breadsmith hoagie bun ($9). Noontime diners can opt for the po’boy sandwich du jour, featuring the chef’s daily selection of shellfish or fin fish.
Dinner entrees begin with Voodoo salmon, a dish of bronzed Faroe Islands salmon over scallion risotto with crawfish etouffee and fried green tomatoes ($21). Crescent City redfish is served with crawfish and andouille ravioli and Cajun cream sauce ($26.50). Bronzed walleye is pan-seared in Creole spices and accompanied by red beans and rice and fried okra ($26). Creole strip steak is dry-rubbed with spices and topped with Cajun butter ($23). Bourbon Street shrimp is made with black tiger shrimp over dirty rice with Cajun cream sauce and jalapeno cornbread ($21).
The highlight of the menu is the Taste of N’Awlins Feast. A heaping platter of New Orleans favorites, it includes Creole strip steak, Bourbon Street shrimp and Voodoo salmon, with confetti rice, fried green tomatoes and jalapeno cornbread ($32). Get $10 off the price of the Feast on Sundays. End your meal with a New Orleans-style dessert like praline cheesecake or bananas Foster bread pudding ($6).

The Winking Lizard Tavern is offering a variety of Cajun and Creole specialties on its menu. Handmade crabcakes are served with a traditional remoulade sauce. A muffaletta sandwich with sliced ham, salami, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese is topped with olive and sun-dried tomato salad and stacked on a tomato and basil focaccia roll. New Orleans-style po’boy sandwiches are made with grilled andouille sausage and pepper Jack cheese, shrimp or catfish with Cajun coleslaw, or roast beef and American cheese with brown gravy on a French baguette. A Fat Tuesday celebration runs from Feb. 28 through March 4.
