North Olmsted Mayor Kevin Kennedy is recovering in Fairview Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery last week.
Kennedy said Monday the condition was discovered last week. The mayor said doctors found he had an infection after he went to be checked. After examining him further, Kennedy said doctors decided they should operate.
“It went well,” Kennedy said. “They took care of the problem and I’m feeling better.”
Kennedy said he is working from his hospital room.
“My secretary is bringing me work in from the office,” he said. “I’m on the phone a lot with people about what’s going on.”
North Olmsted City Council is on its July summer break, so no major meetings are planned for the city currently. Kennedy said he expects to be back in the office soon.
“I appreciate the good wishes from people,” he said.
