A ceremonial groundbreaking for Hospice of the Western Reserve’s 32-bed, 40,000-square-foot Westlake facility took place June 9. The new building, located near the corner of Crocker and Clemens roads, will be called the Ames Family Hospice House. Benefactors Chuck and Jay Ames contributed $10 million for the project.

Scheduled to be completed next summer, the Ames Family Hospice House will provide a home-like environment for seriously ill patients who have no caregiver or need intensive short-term symptom management.
