Vehicle wraps, the graphical advertising applied to a firm’s delivery trucks or other vehicles, are not uncommon in Northeast Ohio but are very big in the western states, according to Lori Kolenich. The co-owner of Speedpro Imaging Cleveland West expects them to grow in popularity throughout the Midwest.
That would be good news for Kolenich, because vehicle wraps are one of the products her company offers.
“It’s a good way to advertise your business,” Kolenich told West Life. “It’s definitely a proven model.”
Kolenich and her husband, Jeff, were laid off from their respective jobs at American Greetings in recent years. A franchising consultant paired them up with Speedpro, an Arizona-based large-format imaging and graphics company. Speedpro had more than 100 franchises in the U.S., Kolenich said, but none were in Northeast Ohio. Lori draws on her business experience to run the franchise, while her husband has a marketing background.
Many franchises today are owned and operated by individuals who have been let go by corporate America, Kolenich noted.
The Koleniches celebrated the opening of their franchise with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house July 20. Mayor Dennis Clough welcomed the new business, located on Viking Parkway, to the city. Current and prospective clients were treated to wine and hors d’oeuvres.
“Most of our business is through networking,” Kolenich said. Speedpro Imaging Cleveland West counts Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Aquarium among its clients, she said.
Ninety percent of Speedpro Imaging’s work is done in-house on the franchise’s 74-inch printer and laminator, Kolenich said.
Among the products the company sells are advertising banners, large format posters, window graphics and trade show displays.
In addition to the Koleniches, who reside in Bay Village, Speedpro Imaging Cleveland West employs Danielle Ladovich, the company’s production manager; and Jessica Shetler, the marketing coordinator.
