Sail over to Wine Bar Rocky River for one of its summer flight schools. The restaurant and wine bar has announced its lineup of wine and food tastings, held at 6:30 p.m. every other Wednesday. Sessions include five wines and five wine pairings. The June 26 tasting showcases three family-owned and managed California vineyards, Taste wines from Danati Family Vineyards, Pedroncelli Winery and Goldschmidt Vineyards. Celebrate the warm weather with a refreshing sampling of rose wines on July 10. The BNA Wine Group of Nashville, Tenn., is featured on July 17, with special guest Dane McFarlin, regional sales manager. Sommelier Zach Turner represents Summerland Winery on July 24. Winemaker Jeff Meyer of Terra d’Oro Winery in Armador, Calif., will walk guests through five of his wines on July 31. Cost for these tastings is $25 per person, plus tax and tip. Crab Fest season is back at Salmon Dave’s Pacific Grille. Executive chef Mark Cameron has added several new specialties to the menu, featuring crab from throughout the country’s shores.
Start your meal with an appetizer of crab and cream cheese pot stickers ($8), crab and artichoke dip ($11) or a crab cake with Oriental honey mustard ($13). Crab and shrimp chowder is offered on Fridays.
An Oriental crab and shrimp salad with mango, avocado, lo mein noodles and sesame ginger vinaigrette ($14) is a light and satisfying summer meal. Tenderloin Oscar with crabmeat and bearnaise sauce ($29.50) is back on the bill of fare, along with a noodle bowl with shrimp, braised pork shoulder and crab dumplings ($15).
The highlight of the summer menu is the Alaskan king crab feast. Choose a pound ($36) or a pound and a half ($46) of crab legs. Other feast options are crab legs and filet ($46), crab legs and crab cake ($41) or crab legs and grilled salmon ($41). Every feast includes whipped potatoes and broccoli. Add crab and shrimp chowder or a house salad for $3. The price of the crab feast is reduced by $10 on Sundays.

Feast on Greek cuisine at the annual St. Demetrios Church Greek Festival, June 20 through June 23.
