Fairview High Stagecrafters’ present ‘Facing Up’

The play, written by Cynthia Mercati, mixes drama with humor as its teenage characters deal with a a range of challenges, from bullying to relationships. Performances are 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the auditorium of Fairview High School.

On stage at Westlake High School: The female “Odd Couple”

Westlake High School’s Center Stage Players present a female version of the Neil Simon play “The Odd Couple” at 7 p.m. April 22 through April 24 and at 2 p.m. April 25. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit in this version. Tickets cost $7.

Fairview Park Police Chief Patrick Nealon, who will retire in October, threw out the first pitch at Monday night’s Lake Erie Crushers baseball game in Avon. Monday night was Fairview Park community night at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, and Nealon represented the police department and the city.
