PHOTOS: Fairview High School homecoming

The theme “East To West, Fairview Is Best” inspired each Fairview High School class to create a travel-related float for Friday’s Homecoming parade. Classes chose a US city to depict on their float. The junior class won the float competition, judged by a committee of community members, with their depiction of Honolulu. Seniors Nick Miller and Olivia Hanton were named Fairview’s King and Queen prior to Friday’s football game. The Warriors lost to the Falcons of Firelands High School, 20-7, on the football field.

PHOTOS: Pierogi pinching tournament

A dozen people competed in a pierogi pinching contest Saturday St. Mary Magdalene Byzantine Catholic Church in Fairview Park. The competition was a new part of the parish’s eighth-annual European Festival, a celebration of ethnic food, music and dance.

Solar Eclipse 2017

The solar eclipse Monday drew more than a 100 people to a viewing party at the Westlake Porter Public Library, one of several spots people gathered to look up at the sky.

‘Annie,’ ‘Tomorrow’ comes to Fairview stage

The acting troupe of the Fairview Park Fine Arts and Theatre Association tells the story of “Annie,” the world’s most optimistic orphan, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the Frank Barr Auditorium of Fairview High School.
