Casey Coleman honored at BAYarts » Coleman

On June 6, Recovery Resources and the Coleman Family hosted a dessert reception and brief program in memory of Casey Coleman (March 24, 1951 – November 27, 2006), legendary Cleveland Sports Broadcaster, to celebrate his life and continue his work helping people triumph over alcoholism at BAYarts in Bay Village. Coleman's personal story of recovery inspired others to seek help. He was named one of the 50 most influential people in the United States to openly acknowledge they are in recovery. He also received Recovery Resources' 2005 Bronze Key Award, the highest honor of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. Coleman gave back to the community in many ways, including volunteering and advocating for Recovery Resources. The year he died, Coleman stated, “I work at Recovery Resources four days a week, helping others try to break the cycle of addiction, attending group meetings and offering support to those who need it the most. Many are on the verge of relapse and are just trying to take one day at a time.” Recovery Resources created Casey’s Fund to ensure that people can get help, regardless of their ability to pay.
