Nothing could taste better than a grilled burger and a cold beer on a summer day.
Imagine having your choice of chef-created burgers made from Ohio-raised meat, accompanied by a chilled selection from a wall of 99 different craft beers.
Streat Burger Bistro and Beer, 16300 Detroit Road in Lakewood, offers a menu of signature burgers, chicken sandwiches and hand-cut fries with various toppings, along with macaroni and cheese, salads and a few appetizer selections. Everything is fresh and made with locally sourced ingredients. Toppings and sauces are prepared in-house and there is no freezer or microwave in the kitchen. That is what draws customers to the small corner bistro and craft beer place. Owners Izzy Schachner and Jay Leitson, who also operates restaurants on the east side of town, keep the menu simple, but offer quality ingredients. They also operate a food truck, StrEAT Mobile Bistro.
Start your meal with an order of duck fat fries served with garlic aioli, homemade chips topped with craft beer cheese and chipotle mayo, or Streat poutine fries with bacon gravy and beer-battered cheddar.
Create your own sandwich by picking your choice of beef or chicken, a beef and bacon blend or the house-made veggie burger. Then, choose a classic burger bun, whole wheat bun, gluten-free masa waffle, or order your sandwich served open-faced on fresh, seasonal greens. Add an order of hand-cut fries sprinkled with sea salt, or truffle fries with fresh herbs, Parmesan cheese and white truffle oil. Finally, select one of Streat Burger’s chef-created styles.
