Rockets make the Division II state Final Four

The Bay High School boys varsity soccer team has rocketed straight to the state Final Four with its 2-0 victory over Ottawa-Gandorf High School Saturday afternoon at Ashland High School.
Sophomore forward Dan Linhart scored the Rockets’ first goal with 30 minutes left in the game off a pass from senior forward Matt Toth. Senior midfielder Brady Kinsey scored the other Bay goal, with the assist coming from sophomore midfielder Connor McDonald.
Senior goalkeeper Koray Sayir had four saves in the game, which was his ninth shutout of the year. Saturday’s game was the Rockets’ fourth shutout this postseason.
Bay (14-4-3) will face Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School tonight at 7 p.m. CVCA defeated University School 1-0 in its regional championship game. The winner of tonight’s matchup will face the winner of the state semifinal game between Bexley High School and Carroll High School on Saturday at Columbus Crew Stadium at 3:30 p.m. for the Division II state championship.
