A day full of entertainment on an indoor stage in the parish hall will culminate with a performance by Jimmy K and Ethnic Jazz, a polka band, which performs from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Ethnic cuisine offerings including pork goulash dinners, pierogies, stuffed cabbage, chicken paprikash, saurkraut balls, frankfurters and potato pancakes.
Think of the Young Marines as scouting on steroids. Participants meet one weekend each month, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday. Weekends consist of classroom time during which drills and military customs are taught, as well as outdoor time for physical fitness activities and hiking.
Rep. Jim Renacci will be the guest speaker at the Sept. 15 luncheon meeting of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce at La Centre Conference and Banquet Facility, located at 25777 Detroit Road in Westlake.
The Fairview Park, North Olmsted and Olmsted chambers of commerce are also participating in the event.
It turns out there won’t be a political battle for seats on the Westlake City Schools Board of Education after all. Two candidates, Russ Ezolt and Terry Southworth, informed the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections that they were withdrawing their names form the ballot.
