Funeral home sign brightens people’s days in all the wrong ways

Mayor Eileen Patton counseled the owners of a new funeral home and nearby residents to “talk it out” and resolve a dispute about a brightly lit sign. The mayor acknowledged that, as a member of the planning commission, she voted for the sign variance, not realizing the impact it would have on residents across the freeway.
