Westlake police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of a neglected dog.

The male dog is of a mixed breed, part cattle dog, is approximately 2 years old, police said. The dog was found at the Bradley Road Nature Park around 7 a.m. Monday morning wearing a light-blue cloth collar.

The dog, which has had its dewclaws removed, has mange, a possible eye infection and is undernourished, police said. It flinches from human touch and appears to have been abandoned after a period of neglect, they added.

The dog is currently at the city’s kennel, Capt. Guy Turner said.

Anyone with information on the dog and its owner is asked to call Westlake police at 440-871-3311.
