Fairview Park City Council will hold a town hall meeting on flooding at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 20) at City Hall, 20777 Lorain Road. The meeting will take place in the basement community meeting room.
Ward 4 Councilman John Hinkel arranged the meeting. He said City Hall received 19 calls of flooding following an Aug. 12 storm. Many of the flooding complaints originated from residents of West 227th, West 229th and West 224th Streets, Hinkel said.
Hinkel said he originally planned the meeting for residents of Ward 4, but other council members suggested it include the entire city.
The agenda, Hinkel said, will include a review of anti-flooding steps already take, future steps to reduce flooding and comments from residents.
Hinkel said he reserved the meeting room Friday but media outlets were not informed of the event until Tuesday morning. The councilman said he passed out about 200 fliers announcing the meeting Tuesday evening.
