Area fundraisers offer a taste of Westshore dining

The sixth annual Taste of Westlake fundraiser will be held at Wagner’s of Westlake on April 24. The event is sponsored by the Citizens for Westlake Schools.

Guests are invited to sample offerings prepared by participating restaurants. The list of restaurants includes Bob Evans, B Spot, Cabin Club, Claudette’s, Houlihan’s, Si Senor, The Cheesecake Factory, the Rusty Barrel and Zoup.
Entertainment is being provided by pianist and vocalist Jonathan Hooper, a 2009 Westlake High School graduate.

All proceeds from the Taste of Westlake will help fund campaign and outreach efforts for the district’s next operating levy.

Market at the Foodbank, a benefit for Harvest for Hunger on May 4, will feature cuisine and drink from more than 50 of Northeast Ohio’s top restaurants and beverage purveyors. The annual Best of the West benefit for Eliza Jennings takes place on May 18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at The Renaissance in Olmsted Township.

Proceeds from Best of the West support Eliza Jennings’ services, including SAIDO Learning. Eliza Jennings is a nonprofit organization with 125 years of providing care and services to older adults on Cleveland’s West Side. Its network of communities includes Eliza Jennings Health Campus in Cleveland, Eliza Jennings Assisted Living Community at Devon Oaks in Westlake, Eliza Jennings Retirement Campus at The Renaissance, and the SAIDO Learning Center adult day program in Cleveland. In addition, Eliza Jennings Home and Community Based Services provides in-home therapy and skilled home health care.

The Westlake-Westshore Arts Council’s second annual Festa di Primavera is April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Dadonna’s Italian Restaurant in Westlake. This year’s event celebrates the council’s 30th anniversary of service to the community.
Proceeds from Festa di Primavera benefit the New Students Arts Scholarship Endowment Fund. Guests are invited to feast on Italian food served family style, while bidding on auctions and raffles. Dinner music will be provided by harpist Cecilia Ilg McKay.
