Mardi Gras festivities are in full swing

Mardi Gras festivities are in full swing at Salmon Dave’s Pacific Grille in Rocky River.

The annual Taste of N’Awlins Feast runs now through March, with a parade of Cajun and Creole dishes on the menu.

Start your feast with a bowl of Gumbo Ya Ya, made with chicken, spicy andouille sausage, okra and rice ($7), or crispy fried oysters served with jalapeno tartar sauce and citrus salsa ($9.50). Crab Napoleon is fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab meat and Creole sauce ($12.50). Boudin balls are pan-fried andouille sausage and rice balls, served with crawfish etouffee and Creole mustard ($9).
The Hellfire crawfish salad is back on the menu, with spicy fried crawfish, candied pecans, bleu cheese and buttermilk dressing ($14). Additions to the bar menu include a Bayou burger topped with andouille sausage and smoked Gouda cheese whiz, fried green tomatoes and sport peppers ($12). The oyster po’boy sandwich is made with cornmeal-crusted oysters and jalapeno tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato on a Breadsmith hoagie bun ($9). Noontime diners can opt for the po’boy sandwich du jour, featuring the chef’s daily selection of shellfish or fin fish.

Dinner entrees begin with Voodoo salmon, a dish of bronzed Faroe Islands salmon over scallion risotto with crawfish etouffee and fried green tomatoes ($21). Crescent City redfish is served with crawfish and andouille ravioli and Cajun cream sauce ($26.50). Bronzed walleye is pan-seared in Creole spices and accompanied by red beans and rice and fried okra ($26). Creole strip steak is dry-rubbed with spices and topped with Cajun butter ($23). Bourbon Street shrimp is made with black tiger shrimp over dirty rice with Cajun cream sauce and jalapeno cornbread ($21).

The highlight of the menu is the Taste of N’Awlins Feast. A heaping platter of New Orleans favorites, it includes Creole strip steak, Bourbon Street shrimp and Voodoo salmon, with confetti rice, fried green tomatoes and jalapeno cornbread ($32). Get $10 off the price of the Feast on Sundays. End your meal with a New Orleans-style dessert like praline cheesecake or bananas Foster bread pudding ($6).
