Salmon Dave’s Maine Event marks its 20th year

The Maine Event, Hospitality Restaurants’ most successful annual menu promotion, marks its 20th year at Salmon Dave’s Pacific Grille.

Celebrate seafood this fall with the addition of dishes like lobster rangoons ($9) and chopped lobster salad ($14) to the menu. Of course, Salmon Dave’s award-winning lobster bisque is featured all year long. Noontime diners can enjoy a Maine lobster and shrimp roll with lemon-caper dressing, served on a buttered split-top bun with hand-cut fries ($15).

Additions to the dinner menu include almond-crusted tilapia served with lobster basmati rice ($22), and herb-crusted walleye with roasted red pepper cream and lobster ravioli ($26). Grilled filet mignon is served Lobster Newberg-style, with a five-ounce coldwater lobster tail and Newberg sauce ($27).

Pasta offerings are a lobster and pork noodle bowl with poached lobster dumplings and braised pork shoulder, ramen-style noodles, edamame and cucumber salad ($16), and lobster tossed with cavatappi pasta in lobster cream sauce ($21).

The highlight of the promotion is The Maine Event, a New England-style lobster bake with a whole Maine lobster, grilled half-chicken, steamed clams, red skin potatoes and corn on the cob ($39.95). The lobster bake is offered for $24.95 on Sunday, after 1 p.m.

A tap takeover and Southern Tier Brewing Co. beer dinner is planned at Sterle’s Country House at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24, in partnership with The Cleveland Flea.

The five-course meal, paired with Southern Tier brews, begins with a salad of spinach, applewood-smoked bacon, Honey Crisp apple and roasted shallot vinaigrette. The second course is butternut squash gnocchi with lobster mushrooms, kale and Parmesan and pumpkin soubise. Cherry stone clams are being paired with Sterle’s house-made sausage. Duck confit and crisp honey mustard spaetzle will be followed by a special dessert. The brewer will be on hand for a meet and greet following dinner. Parker’s Grille and Tavern, 32858 Walker Road in Avon Lake, is hosting a Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) beer tasting event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 in its event center.

Guests will be welcomed with a surprise GLBC beer, served with cheese and crackers. Crab cakes will be accompanied by Dortmunder Gold, while oysters will be complemented by Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. Oktoberfest will be paired with sausage-stuffed mushrooms. Cajun-seasoned lamb chops will be served with Commodore Perry and a dessert of mini chocolate lava cake will be paired with Nosferatu. Build your own beer with Dogfish Head from 6 p.m. to closing on Oct. 24 at the Tremont Tap House. The restaurant and bar will provide mini “Randals.” Customers can fill them with whatever hops and spices they like to infuse the Dogfish Head beer. A four-course Columbus Brewing Co. dinner is planned for Oct. 25, and there is a Belgian beer brunch on tap for Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tremont Tap House is at 2572 Scranton Road.
