October is clambake month in Northeast Ohio. These restaurants are offering their own twist on the popular autumn treat.

Beachcliff Tavern, 19245 Detroit Road, Rocky River, 440-333-4686: Clambake dinners are served Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to close. The meal includes a half-chicken, a dozen clams, clam chowder, sweet potato and corn on the cob for $16. Substitute ribs or steak for the chicken for an additional $3.

Bonnie’s Bar and Grill, 22811 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, 440-734-3276: Traditional clambake dinners are $16.99 every Friday and Saturday after 4 p.m.

Don’s Lighthouse Grille, 8901 Lake Ave., Cleveland, 216-961-6700: Don’s Taste of New England autumn menu includes whole Maine lobster with middleneck clams. Save $10 off the price of the dinner on Sunday and Thursday.

Grumpy’s Cafe, 2621 W. 14th St., Tremont, 216-241-5025: Clambakes are served every Friday through Nov. 1, from noon to 10 p.m. Dinner is a dozen clams, mesquite chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, Southwest corn and homemade bread for $15.99. Add soup or salad for $18.99, or substitute a strip steak for chicken for an additional $2.99.

Ironwood Cafe, 688 Dover Center Road, Westlake, 440-835-9900: Clambake dinners will be served from 5 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 24. The meal includes New England clam chowder, salad and roasted potatoes, and a dozen clams served with a half-chicken ($25) or strip steak ($30). Extra clams are $9 a dozen. Call for reservations.

Market, 1137 Linda St., Rocky River, 440-799-4292: A VIP clambake is being held in the outside tent prior to the Pat Dailey concert on Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert at 8. Clambake dinner tickets are $50 per person. Preferred concert seating is $30. General admission to the concert is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show.

Michael’s Family Restaurant, 19797 Detroit Road, Rocky River, 440-356-1233:
The restaurant’s 35th annual clambake is served every Thursday through Sunday. It includes chicken, a dozen clams, clam broth and chowder, sweet corn and potatoes for $16.99.

Pearl of the Orient, 19300 Detroit Road, Rocky River, 440-333-9902: The Chinese Lobsterbake, available seven days a week through Nov. 15, starts with Peking clam chowder, followed by a dozen clams, a whole Maine lobster de Fukien, chicken ala Kung Pao, fried rice and garden vegetables. The cost is $35.99 per person. Reservations are required.

Smedley’s Bar and Grill, 17004 Lorain Ave., Fairview Park, 216-941-0124: A clambake dinner with all of the fixings and live entertainment is planned for Oct. 26. Tickets are $20. An extra dozen clams is $6 and a lobster tail is $15.

Sokolowski’s University Inn, 1201 University Road, Tremont, 216-771-9236: Cleveland’s oldest family-owned restaurant serves clambake dinners every Saturday in October. Choose between a steak or chicken bake, with a dozen clams, New England clam chowder, red skin potatoes and a side salad.

Tick Tock Tavern, 11526 Clifton Blvd., Cleveland, 216-631-6111: A clambake dinner with chicken is $19.95. Steak and prime rib clambakes are also available.

Tommy’s Place, 1325 Linda St., Rocky River, 440-331-9687: Clambakes, served on Friday and Saturday, include a half-chicken, a dozen clams, chowder, corn and potatoes for $16.95.
