Cuyahoga Community College’s Westshore Campus is hosting a series of lectures and discussions on the human brain. The series is modeled after broadcaster Charlie Rose’s Brain Series, which airs on public television. In the series, Rose and Eric Kandel, a neuropsychiatrist and Nobel Prize recipient, discuss the function and diseases of the human brain with a panel of experts.
The first talk in the Tri-C series takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Westshore Campus, located at 31001 Clemens Road in Westlake. The topic will be “Your Brain at Westshore.” A brown-bag discussion takes place from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, also at the Westshore Campus. The topic will be “Great Mysteries of the Brain.” The brown-bag discussions and lectures continue periodically through May, with some taking place at Corporate College West, located at 25425 Center Ridge Road.
The evening lecture series will focus on a variety of brain-related topics. The sessions will include panel discussions with topic experts, interactive activities, games and demonstrations. All events in the series are free.
