Meet area shop owners at Chamber’s Business Showcase

The third annual Fairview Park Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase takes place from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Gemini Center, 21225 Lorain Road. The expo, which is free to the public, allows consumers to learn more about area businesses, service contractors, shops and restaurants. As in past years, food venders will be handing out free samples.

Last year, about 60 area stores and businesses rented space to promote their products and services. Chamber of Commerce organizers say the expo is the only one of its kind in the area because it is a consumer-to-business show, meaning potential customers are brought face-to-face with business owners.

“We know it’s going to be a great show,” said Janene Kubit, past president of the Fairview Park Chamber of Commerce and chairwoman of the Business Showcase. More than 60 local businesses, including 12 food vendors, have signed up to participate, she said.

This year’s expo includes more businesses from outside Fairview Park’s boundaries than ever before, said John Sobolewski, the chamber’s executive director.
