The Westlake Recreation Department announces its fall sports programs:

Shawn Hood’s Player/Parent Clinic, for grades K-2, will be held Sept. 22 and will give you a way to spend time with your child and also improve their basketball skills. Learn what you can work on with your child to help improve their shooting, dribbling, ball handling and much more. Fees: $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

Hoopin’ It Up, for boys and girls grades K-6, will be held Sundays, Oct. 14 to Nov. 4. Getting ready for your season? Just want to learn more about the game? Either way, these preseason workouts will help you develop the skills to take your game to the next level. Each session will focus on the fundamentals of the game, building as the weeks go along to prepare players for game competition. Ball handling, passing, shooting footwork and defense will be the primary skills taught by Coaches Jeff Huber (varsity basketball coach) and Brianne Huber (middle school coach). Each player will be given drills to work on at the conclusion of the workouts so that their improvement will continue. Grades K-3 are from 12-12:45 p.m. and grades 4-6 are from 12:45-1:30 p.m. Fees: $75 for members, $80 for residents and $85 for nonresidents.
