Rocky River City Schools is seeking a middle school boys cross country coach and a seventh-grade girls volleyball coach. These positions are for the 2012-13 school year. The Rocky River Soccer Organization is sponsoring its 17th annual Soccer Jamboree on Aug. 4 at Rocky River High School Stadium. The girls will open the day’s activities at 1 p.m. as they rotate between contests of skills, games and fun activities. At 2:10 p.m. there will be team introductions, a raffle of prizes and the announcement of the 2012 RRSO Soccer Appreciation Award winner. At 3 p.m. the boys will compete in the same skills and contests as the girls. Players from the U8 teams through high school will participate. All RRSO players rostered for fall 2012 and their parents are invited to attend. RRSO is an organization dedicated to the promotion of competitive youth soccer in Rocky River.

The Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association “Boys of Summer” tournament will be held Aug. 2-5. The cost is $300 per team. The Trent Richardson Football ProCamp will be held Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Strongsville High School. Richardson will be on site to direct camp activities and provide instruction. He will be joined by a selection of the top prep and college coaches from the Cleveland area. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-14 and focuses on the team concept and fundamentals of football. Each camper receives a goody bag with over $130 worth of merchandise, including an autographed camp team photo with Trent and an exclusive camp T-shirt. Cost of the ProCamp is $149. The Ohio Girls Golf Foundation Openwill showcase the state’s best high school girl golfers on Sunday and Monday at Avon Oaks Country Club. Headlined by LPGA tour professional Barb Mucha, the two-day event includes an interactive clinic, 18-hole tournament and awards presentation for individual low gross and best team. On Sunday, select high school golfers are paired with the corporate sponsors in a fun 9-hole scramble; then on Monday, the full field gathers for the 18-hole tournament. For more information, go to

Westlake High School boys varsity coach Shawn Hood is conducting a basketball camp at Westlake Recreation Center. Improve your shooting, passing and overall skills at this great summer camp for both boys and girls. Camp dates are July 23-26. Grades 3-5 will go from 9 a.m.-noon. Sign up today for the 20th annual Classic at Mastick 5K held Aug. 8 at the Mastick Woods Picnic Area in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. This is an excellent preseason tuneup for cross country teams and challenging for seasoned runners, easy for leisurely runners. Proceeds support the Classic at Mastick College Scholarship Fund. Registration is open for the John Sanders Memorial Golf Outing benefiting the Olmsted Falls Schools Endowment and Alumni Association and its scholarship programs. The outing will be taking place Saturday at Mallard Creek Golf Course in Columbia Station. Coast to Coast Baseball would like to invite local players (ages 10-18) to an upcoming tryout being held at Diamond Indoor Sports in Westlake on July 18. Since the summer of 2001, more than 2,500 athletes (ages 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18) from 46 different states have participated in the Coast to Coast Baseball program. At the tryout, the staff will evaluate your skills in four areas: hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed. Players who are accepted to the program may choose to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico, or work with top college coaches and pro scouts at one of their Florida or Arizona camp and showcase events held at an MLB spring-training complex.
