After a two-year closure, St. James will reopen today.
“We feel St. James is a significant treasure for the whole community, and we’d love to have everyone come — Catholics, non-Catholics or whatever,” said Toni Sabo, a parishioner and president of the Friends of St. James group.
Mass will take place at 7 p.m., followed by an outdoor reception.
Opening with a new mass schedule, the regular times are as follows:
- 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays
- 10:30 a.m. on Sundays
- 8:15 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
One of the problems at St. James was a lack of clergy. So, for the time being, Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon has appointed a pastor – the Rev. Joseph Workman.
“It’s gonna be a very joyous day,” Sabo said. “We’re grateful to all the community members that supported us, and we’re just thrilled that we have our church back.”
