PRICELESS TREASURERS: On Feb. 16, school board treasurer Greg Markus was presented with the Auditor of State Award with Distinction from state auditor Dave Yost. The recognition is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. The following criteria have to be met for a “clean” audit report:

• Timely filing of financial reports

• The report must not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs

VALENTINE ROYALTY: Love was in the air at the Northwesterly Assisted Living Community last week as residents celebrated Valentine’s Day with family and friends. The dining room was transformed into a ballroom where residents danced to their favorite tunes, courtesy of Dave Michaels. Six couples were in the running for the crowns, and at the end of the evening, Wally and Lillian Wirtz celebrated their 67th Valentine’s Day together by being crowned king and queen.
