Not all proposed school cuts may be necessary

School officials are hopeful the teachers and staff unions will offer contract concessions to alleviate the budget crunch. And Westshore state Rep. Nan Baker has introduced an amendment to the state budget that would limit the reduction in state funding any single school district suffers to no more than 20 percent.

Cross resolution offers nothing new, others argue

A resolution asking the Westlake City Schools to develop a long-term financial plan offers nothing the district is not already doing, say school administrators and some board members.
